Scene

Victor's tale catches up to the present moment. "Avoid ambition, Captain," he warns Walton. That night, exhausted from years of pursuit, Victor Frankenstein dies. Walton finds the creature weeping over his creator's body. "He was my father, and I destroyed him," the creature says. He leaps from the ship onto the ice, vowing to build a funeral pyre and end his existence. Walton watches until ice obscures everything.
